In the year 2023-24 across all levels of government, total taxation revenue was:

  • $801.7 billion
  • $46.2 billion (6.1%) higher than 2022-23
  • 30.0% as a percentage of GDP.

All Australia taxation revenue

All Australia total taxation revenue continued to grow, reaching $801.7b in 2023-24 (up 6.1%), while taxation revenue as a percentage of GDP was 30.0%. Positive annual growth was recorded for all levels of government.
